Bio
Alan was born in Japan and grew up in San Diego. He has performed and worked in the New York area for 25 years. He has performed and/or recorded with Lou Donaldson, Mike Mainieri, Shunzo Ohno, Charles McPherson, former Yankee Bernie Williams, Emedin Rivera, Victor Wooten, Shiro Sadamura, Kenwood Denard, Buddy Williams, Gil Paris, James Cammack, Kim Plainfield, Joel Rosenblatt, Buddy Williams, Lou Volpe, Marshal McDonald, Richie Cannata, Peter Sprague, Brandon Fields, Paul Peress, Ernest Tibbs, Thierry Arpino, Bele Beledo, Bill Crow, Michael Vinas, , Ruben Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez, Jimmy Sturr and Chris Caffery and others.
Musical highlights include include performing with vibraphonist Mike Mainieri as part of the Johnny Pachehco Latin Jazz Festival Bronx NY, performing with The Lou Donaldson Quartet at the Iron Horse Northhampton MA and Blue Star Cafe Hartford CT, 2 tours in Japan with multiple Grammy winner Trumpeter Shunzo Ohno, recording with bassist Victor Wooten on guitarist Bob Baglione’s recording Chronoparadox, performing with the Paul Peress band at The Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach with Brandon Fields sax, Ernest Tibbs bass, recording with percussionist Emedin Rivera on his Latin Jazz recording Tropical Turbulence. Performing at Fitzgerald’s in Chicago IL and The Knitting Factory in NY with the Jim Cammack/Baglione band featuring drummer Kenwood Denard.
